Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor Service
Under ADR 2007 all organisation that consign and transport dangerous goods must appoint a dangerous goods safety advisor.
The DGSA is responsible for ensuring that an organisation either consigning or transporting dangerous goods complies with ADR. This includes checking and verifying paperwork such as consignment notes, tremcards, ensuring that vehicles are correctly placarded and verifying that training has been carried out and verified.
Beacon Safety Consulting will provide a DGSA that will actually visit client’s premises,
in order to carry out the annual report. A number of DGSAs provide little more than a telephone advice service with no visits to a client’s site to verify that the correct processes are in place.
Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor Plus Service
Beacon Safety Consulting can also offer a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor plus service (DGSA+). This service combines a competent person service for health and safety and a DGSA.
There are many areas where the role of health and safety adviser and DGSA can often become very blurred. The DGSA+ package combines the competent health and safety person and DGSA functions.
